Pon el Sol is a solar installer comparison service for homes in Andalucía, Spain. We connect homeowners with verified local installers.

2. What data we collect

When you fill in a form on ponelsol.com we collect:

• Name — so we can address you personally
• Phone number — so the installer can call you with a quote
• Email (optional) — to send you the written report
• Postcode and property type — to match you with a nearby installer
• Monthly electricity bill (approx.) — for a savings estimate

We also automatically collect:

• IP address (stored as a hash) — for security and analytics
• Browser and device info — for technical optimisation
• Cookies — see section 5

3. Why we use your data

• Connecting you with an installer — we share your details with the local installer in your area so they can contact you with a no-obligation quote.
• Conversion tracking — we send hashed (SHA-256) data to Meta via the Conversions API to measure ad effectiveness.
• Service improvement — anonymised data helps us improve the user experience.

4. Who we share your data with

• The local installer — receives your name, phone, email and project details to prepare a quote.
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — hashed data via the Conversions API, no personal info in the clear.
• Cloudflare — our hosting provider, processes technical data.
• Google (Tag Manager + Solar API) — for analytics and solar-production estimates of your roof.

We never sell your data to third parties.

5. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• _fbp / _fbc — Meta ad attribution
• _ga / _gid — Google Analytics via GTM, usage analytics
• Functional cookies — to make the site work correctly

6. Your rights (GDPR / Spanish LOPDGDD)

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten)
• Object to processing
• Portability — receive your data in a standard format
• Lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es)

We retain your data for a maximum of 24 months after your last interaction, unless a longer period is legally required.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures:

• SSL/TLS encryption across the site
• SHA-256 hashing before sending data to Meta
• Access control on databases and systems
• Hosted on European infrastructure (Cloudflare EU)

9. Children

Pon el Sol is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
